Smile

Smile

sri-lanka stamp

I love to think about how universal and wonderful a smile is. No matter your culture, this innate facial expression carries the same deep meaning and feelings, wherever you are. That day, I’d been cycling on a deserted road for over eight hours against a strong headwind and I was running low on water under the sweltering midday sun. The truck driver, who had barely slowed down long enough to hand me that slice of fresh watermelon from his cab window, was now pulling away. We may not have exchanged a single word, yet our dialogue couldn’t have been clearer.

    Clin d’oeil du Sri Lanka!
Charmante expérience pour un infatigable globe-trotter.
Je souhaite qu’il en soit ainsi tout au long de votre voyage. Bonne route!
