Master Roberts had asked that one person attempts the notoriously painful shin break, yet nobody got up. Breaking had never been my thing: I was too skinny, too weak. But I felt this was my time. I could do it. I stood up, lifting two fingers, indicating I wanted two boards. The room went silent. Focused on the wooden planks, I marched straight up to the men holding them and without a pause or hesitation, tore through the boards with my right shin. I looked back at my Master. He was smiling. This moment defined the rest of my life. | ||

Wonderful!
TANK!!
Thanks for the comment Marc…but…enlighten us…What do you mean by “Tank”?
Ha ha….well you know in the army there are TANKS
i am pretty much just pointing out that what you did took courage and inner strength, almost making you feel unstoppable after what you had done ….making a sort of Tank haha
hahaha…Got it! 🙂 Funny, because coincidentally, in those years of training, there was a guy I looked up to whose name was Tank (I’m serious!). And that’s exactly what I always thought of when I saw him fight. And yes, the way you put it is really the point: this moment sparked something in me, a realization that nothing could stop me once I put my mind to it. A first concrete action that just started this amazing domino effect.
