Free Falling

Free Falling

My heart was beating off the charts. I had just sprinted along the 130-meter-high bridge spanning the Zambezi River, to get to the jump platform. The border guards had warned me that I was too late, and that jumps had stopped for the day, but I was in Africa where “too late” could be discussed. After a few minutes of negotiations, a large elastic cord had been secured to my ankles, my toes were over the edge, a warm wind was blowing through my hair, and an awesome canyon spread out ahead. It was time to fly: “3…2…1…BUNGEEEEEEE!!!”

Can’t help it. Actually, I had to come back a few days later and do it a second time, but…with a twist. Check it out.
