I’ve been on enough expeditions to know that it’s not supposed to go as planned, but this… This was on a whole other level. On the third day of my carefully devised 18-day exit route from this plateau, I realized that the network of rivers I was supposed to paddle through in my overloaded packraft, consisted largely of impassable rapids and waterfalls, encased within impenetrable boreal forest. My only option, was to turn around and head North, hiking my way out over the mountains. But with over 50 kg of supplies in two large bags, the big question was how?

Well… for a while at least 🙂 It’s a long story which will actually be part of a miniseries I will be publishing this coming spring, which documents my 23 days isolated in those mountains and how I made it out. Stay tuned, more to come!
