Let There Be Light

Let There Be Light

cambodia stamp

Sometimes you can’t help but appreciate that you are part of something larger. I waited until the moon had set. The night was at its darkest and the ocean was calm. I had my doubts… But it happened. I stepped into the pitch-black water and my skin lit up bright blue. It felt like I had just plugged into and activated an otherwise invisible network of life. I couldn’t see the actual bioluminescent plankton, in fact, I couldn’t see much around me as I swam, except my body glowing and an ethereal trace of my movements dissolving behind me.

Very nice one Yannick. I always enjoy your postcards. BTW, I’m approaching 10 years in China now (after which I will be leaving for a new destination, perhaps in South America). So I am currently writing a book about my decade here; I’ll be sure to send you a link for the electronic copy when it’s completed. Best, Dan Fournier.
