Every expedition has the first question that everyone asks. This one was “solito?!” Indeed, listening to what the incredulous natives were telling me, one would’ve been led to believe that solitary adventurers were at the top of the menu for the fabled jaguar. Yet to protect myself from nasty poisonous critters, I had to take refuge in my hammock from dusk till dawn. So, what do you think goes through your mind when you have to spend 11 hours every night, like a warm sausage suspended from a tree, in the territory of the most feared predator of the Americas?

Whenever I read your updates, I get the same feeling of awe and sheer incomprehension.
