Human Continuum

Human Continuum

kyrgyzstan stamp

Several weeks and countless encounters after having first been invited for chai by this Tajik elder, I felt like I had journeyed across a symbolic bridge. The Silk Route was a fascinating transition between Asia and Europe. Music, food, architecture, facial features… I could really feel eastern and western influences interweaving in a complex cultural mix here. In the grand scheme of things, I couldn’t help but reflect on what a ridiculous concept national borders are. There are no lines separating human beings. You’re not this and I am not that, we’re all some of this and some of that.
