I respectfully declined the restaurant owner’s offer to marry his daughter, but I enthusiastically accepted his offer to sit and order dinner. I was starving. I asked for the menu, and he gestured me to follow him. Puzzled, I went along as we exited the restaurant, walked over to the pier, got in a rowboat, and headed out to sea in the darkness of the night. 15 minutes later, we docked with a floating village. He shone his flashlight onto a set of underwater cages filled with live seafood. Finally, a menu I could understand.
