It was surreal, like floating in the atmosphere of an extra-terrestrial world. I had no bearings whatsoever, just a greenish abyss disappearing into the depths of this 12,000-year-old lake. Thousands of stingless jellyfish rhythmically pulsating around me, caressing my body as I swam past them. I let myself go, sometimes diving as deep as I could, the only indication of change was the drop in temperature and the rising pressure. I had to make a conscious effort to remember to go back up towards the light to breathe. It was so mesmerizing; I could’ve stayed down there. | ||
