I did find the beach from the tourist brochures, but contrary to the advertisements on windows of travel agencies around the world, it wasn’t on the over-developed island of Djerba, a.k.a. “The Polynesia of the Mediterranean”. No, the beaches over there were dirty, packed, and “private”. This one was something else. There were no tour buses. You didn’t have the option of riding a camel from your hotel door to your beach chair: there were no hotels or beach chairs. I don’t even know its exact name, but I know that it was peaceful and unspoiled. | ||

..mmm… I also remember beaches like that, and the sad knowledge that someday someone will discover it and that there might all of a sudden be a hotel or resort taking over… I’m kinda ruining the moment aren’t I? Sorry, let’s just say we best enjoy these places while they last.
