Sacred Place

Sacred Place

The orange-robed monk had asked me to follow him, but I had no idea why or where to. The spontaneous offer turned out to be a half-day trek. His disciple swept the forest floor ahead so that we wouldn’t accidentally step on any living being. He also neatly placed dead branches in the direction of our path; I later understood that this was to help me find my way back on my own. The wonders I discovered on top of this holy mountain cannot be described, they have to be experienced. This will forever remain my first true sacred place.

Yes it was, actually much more remarkable then I could ever describe…One thing came to my attention looking at the picture: It is the monk who is holding the broom for the picture, not the disciple (who’s dressed in white).
