“Where’s your sailboat?” That’s what the islander asked when we docked at our first inhabited island in a week. Indeed, at easily 1,000 USD/day/tourist, this archipelago isn’t the kind of place you expect to find budget-conscious—cheap—travelers. But with dehydrated home-cooked meals, camping gear, a solar panel, an inflatable kayak and 50 liters of water, we could hop from one deserted island to the next without spending a dime, while experiencing this turquoise paradise in a way very few people do—like stopping for lunch inside this cave with a tiny hidden beach that only reveals itself at low-tide. | ||
