I had resisted taking a cellphone on my bicycle expeditions up till now. Disconnecting had always been part of the adventure for me. I was afraid that the breadth of information I would hold in my hand, like the day’s elevation profile or the exact distance to the next village, would take away from that feeling of discovery. To my great surprise, it did not. It emboldened me to venture onto backroads and explore places I wouldn’t have otherwise, with the confidence that if my tech failed, I could fall back on my tried-and-true experience of the past 20 years. | ||

So enjoying living vicariously through your intrepid tracks. My husband and I sold everything to the ground and have been living in our 27 foot 2021 airstream globetrotter for 6 months now. Wally Bynam would be proud at the places we have taken Maerue. People usually respond positively to our decision but no one asks us why we did it? So, why did you decide this lifestyle? I also have gotten the bug and started a youtube channel to share, if possible the emotions surrounding such a drastic change. Watch your head…airstreaming fulltime@bearofverylitttlebrain. It is raw and awful but fun. Peace and safe.travels
