“This is the Military. The Helo ETA is 2 hours. Are you able to start a fire?” This message popped up on my satellite communicator shortly after having sent out my SOS. My journey was coming to a dramatic end—quite fittingly given the trials of the past 23 days isolated in these mountains. Despite being able to see my exit point only 2 kilometers away as the crow flies, my injured leg prevented me from moving on from this exposed summit. A situation made critical by the extreme winds from post-tropical storm Dorian scheduled to hit within hours. | ||

Hope that you are okay.Love your posts.
Thank you both for your concern, and yes, I am fine now. The rescue was super efficient and I got very well taken care of. This whole adventure will be part of a film that I am hoping to have ready by next summer. The trailer will be available to watch by Christmas and will be posted on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/YannickDaoudi/
