I had been watching the surface attentively. Never mind the 10-foot croc lurking beneath my dingy inflatable kayak, this was a real hippo minefield. I had just passed two families, and another one had submerged ahead. A wrong move is not an option when tiptoeing around the animal that kills the most people in Africa. Suddenly, I looked up and there he was, intrigued. Using branches stretching out over the river, the chimp approached cautiously, as one would when making first contact with a new civilization. A familiar feeling rushed through my entire body, like an addict getting his fix. | ||

Heureuse de voir que tu es encore en vie! Je me suis inquiétée (tu vois, j’ai des enfants et des petits-enfants) Tu sais ce que c’est un coeur de mère. Bref, j’ai hâte d’en apprendre plus sur ton dernier périple. Pour moi, tu es Tarzan, Indianna Jones, Tintin, Astérix, Braveheart, (j’exagère là).
